Inspired seven decades ago in Spain, Cursillo has become a global, multi-denominational, spiritual renewal ministry, morphing to meet the needs of each regional community.  In the Diocese of Olympia, it has become Come and See. . . Go and Tell, patterned on John’s gospel stories of individuals drawn to Jesus, following, learning, then sharing their experiences with others.

Two components support one’s growth. A Three-Day weekend differs from other retreat experiences in that it begins a life-long journey, called Fourth Day, with opportunities to develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of the Risen Christ though consistent participation in a small group. Fourth Day is the heart of Come and See. . . Go and Tell, every day of our life after the Three-Day weekend. Traditionally a weekend retreat begins the growth process. However, one may choose to try the small group practices before attending a weekend.

Co-ed weekends are held annually, usually in autumn, at a conference center, from midday Friday through Sunday afternoon. Cost includes a private room for 2 nights and six meals. The governing body of Come and See, known as Secretariat, coordinates each weekend.

Currently, St. Luke’s has 2 women’s groups and 2 men’s groups, each meeting weekly. A new group may form at any time with intentional efforts of potential members. Mentoring is available from experienced, active group members.

Informational brochures and applications are available in the Parish Hall on the south wall near the parking lot doors, or you can refer to the Diocese of Olympia Cursillo website  www.olycursillo.org.

There are several follow-up Cursillo groups active within the St Luke’s  community.
